Anyways, since this is my first time here, I guess I'll list off what types of metal I'm really into. :U

Mostly progressive (stuff like Mastodon, Baroness, Dream Theater, Opeth, etc.) or pretty much any metal genre that's fused with progressive.

I like some death metal (mostly tech or prog, stuff like Death, Meshuggah, and Gojira).

Avant Garde (Diablo Swing Orchestra, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum).

Been getting into quite a bit of black metal lately (Stuff like Agalloch, Wolves in the Throne Room, Nachtmystium, Bathory [pretty much stick to the viking metal stuff], early Behemoth, Alcest).

Also post-metal like Deathmole, Isis, Russian Circles, The Ocean.

And then some thrash like Megadeth, Metallica, Skeletonwitch (Blackened Thrash).

And finally, good old fashioned heavy metal of the likes of Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.

It's progressive metal. Album's due to be released on September 14th.

Really digging this album.
Akerfelt's got an edge to his clean voice that's pretty cool.
What annoys me about Opeth though is everytime I listen to them now, I'm reminded of Porcupine Tree, who, during their In Absentia and Deadwing albums, basically became an Opeth tribute band.
Which isn't bad really, because In Absentia and Deadwing are great albums, but still.
Album's jazzy as hell. :U

Anyways, you guys now know where I come from as far as metal goes, which seems quite a bit more "out there" (Death, post, avant garde, black metal, etc.) than most of you who stick to thrash and power metal (aside from Gep and sometimes John). .-.
