Microsoft Hates Vidya Games, Loves Movies

Gaben is gonna show up at some point and save the day with Half Life 3 I swear.

Ellen Page the vidja is amazing.
The Last of Us is amazing.
Watch Dogs is amazing.
Assassin's Creed 3 is amazing.
Halo 4 looks more like Metroid Prime than a Halo game. I like.

Everything else so far has been meh for me. Blops 2 looks stupid though. I guess yellow is the new brown.

Nintendo, you were doing so well last year.

Nintendo Land is the new Wii Sports, which is all well and good, I suppose, and Pikmin and the various Mario games are great as usual, but I don't think Ninty announced anything particularly new or interesting this year. I guess that one zombie game and some games that PS360 people got already are okay too.

I guess I'm just kind of disappointed with this year's E3 so far, but I'm still holding out hope for the 3DS stuff Nintendo is supposed to show tomorrow. (FIRE-EMBLEM-FIRE-EMBLEM-FIRE-EMBLEM-NINTENDO-PLEASE).

Come to think of it, the thing that intrigued me most during Nintendo's conference was that Ubisoft guy's accent. I spent most of the ZombiU and Batman announcements trying to figure out where the guy was from until I remembered that Ubisoft is Canadian.

And on another note, this:

They do good when they have there little round table and are like

OH YEAH GUYS THIS GREAT GAME IS COMING OUT

And then everyone jizzes all over the keyboard and forgets that they didn't mention it on TV.

Turns out the round table was just more Nintendo Land and a little talk about New Super Mario Bros. U. Followed by a Q&A session that didn't really answer any significant questions.

Q&A's never answer anything because the people asking the questions are dumb and ask questions we already know the answers to.

I think the rumor is Nintendo pulled Retro's spot during the conference and replaced it with the 3DS compilation video.

All the major conferences are done, I guess.

Nintendo's still got two presentations today, one for the Wii U's hardware and one for the 3DS, but I'm doubtful that either will show anything new.

Of course, the interesting part today is probably getting all the impressions based on the demos and stuff.

It's possible that we see a new 3DS announcement or two.

Nintendo had me excited yesterday the way they started but after Wii Mario U I lost interest.

I'm really glad Nintendonlys get games like Arkham City and Darksiders 2, but Nintendo I want more from YOU.

I wasn't expecting a launch title from every one of your franchises or anything, just more than one new game and one new minigame compliation game.

Apparently, Nintendo wanted to focus almost entirely on games that would be out at launch, which is why we saw next to nothing out of most of its big names. They probably wanted to avoid the problem they had with the 3DS launch, where they had announced a lot of stuff prior to release and ended up disappointing people with the meager selection of launch titles. Even so, they still skipped over a bunch of Wii U games that, according to their website, will be available at or around launch, like a new Wario game that didn't get any focus at all during the presentation.

While I can see why they might want to focus on launch titles, I feel like their presentation as a whole would have gone a lot better if at some point Reggie said something like, "And here's the games you can expect in 2013," and showed us one or two good first party games and a handful of third parties that won't be making it in time for launch.

Yeah, I would have been happy withe one or two 2013 announcements for the Wii-U.

Actually if they would have just renamed the system I don't care what they would have announced. >_>

The problem they had with the 3DS was the pricetag didn't justify the launch lineup when they could have just delayed the launch a week or two or released it at a lower price.

I understand why they did what they did with the conference I just feel like it was missing something.

Where as while Sony had some parts that made me cringe (Harry Potter spell casting game) overall they BLEW ME AWAY.

And Microsoft will provide us with more internet memes for a year. >_>

On another note Assassins Creed just became interesting to me again.

Microsoft's "ushering in a new form of entertainment" was hilariously painful to watch. Naturally, it was the only part of Microsoft's show that I saw cause I figured nothing would top it.

I still need to get around to watching Sony's stuff. I hear they have good things, but I haven't had the time to sit through it all.

Actually T_L Microsoft had 3 things legitimately worth watching, however the only one I actually recommend is Tomb Raider.

Looks PHENOMENAL.

Sony started off with some new IP that looks cool, and the Last of Us was amazing.

Is that new IP the aforementioned Ellen Page: The Video Game? I'm assuming it's not actually about Ellen Page, though I admit that that could be pretty awesome.

Also, what was Iwata's thing with the bananas supposed to be?

It's called Beyond: Two Souls.

Me and my friends call it Ellen Page: The Video Game, because they spent a good five to ten minutes talking about how wonderful it was getting her to voice act and model and stuff for the character.

They didn't show any gameplay for Beyond so it's still up in the air, but it looked interesting.

Just watched the trailer. It looks pretty intriguing, but I'd rather wait for gameplay before judging it.

Welp, Nintendo finished their 3DS presentation and shocked nobody by showing absolutely nothing we didn't see yesterday.

I think they lost E3.

Just showing Fire Emblem's logo on the list of games coming in 2012 would have been enough to make the past hour somewhat worthwhile.
