I'm slightly disappointed that this is only a downloadable thing, since whenever I try to download things on my PS3, it tends to die. That said, I would like to get this.

Also, Soma looks kinda weird in the less anime style.

Conversely Jonathan looks awesome in a more gothic style.

I'm inclined to say that that's because his anime-ness was relatively tame compared to Soma. His style lends itself more readily to a more Gothic look than Soma, what with Soma wearing bright colors and such. It's easier to picture Jonathan in the Gothic style than it is to imagine Soma in it. Also the girly hair. With Jonathan's hair, they only had to shorten it a little and maybe make it slightly darker to suit the different art style. Soma's... helmet hair doesn't adapt well.

Incidentally, the PSN gets the DLC too, right?

EDIT: Looking at the DLC characters, Julius and Yoko appear to have been badass-ified as well.

Julius was already Badass.

But yes the PSN version comes with one extra chapter and 2 characters right off the bat and Konami should release the rest of the DLC at a later date.

Also, Maria looks... really creepy. Like a porcelain doll that you expect to come to life and kill you in your sleep. By throwing birds at you, I guess. That might be why I preferred her Dracula X Chronicles version more. D=

Never really bothered me.

It didn't bother me before because young Maria's art in previous games look more animesque. With a more realistic art style, she looks creepy.

This games gothic/anime style is probably one of my favorite art styles.

It maintains the animated qualities of anime, but isn't nearly as exaggerated.

It does let Jonathan and Charlotte look almost as elegantly Gothic as Alucard and Shanoa while still retaining their distinctive anime-ness. Soma just looks kind of out-of-place, but not necessarily bad.

This is true. Although I think his Harmony of Despair look is even more badass.

Well, his competition is Jonathan, who's okay, I guess, and Richter, who got his pansyass brainwashed and had to be saved by gothic-pretty-boy-mchateshisdad.

I mean from a gameplay standpoint in Harmony of Despair.

But yes in comparison to others we have:

Jonathan who spent too much time being "emoish".

Richter who was kind of cool and he did give us "Die Monster".

Simon, who is mute.

Is it true that Richter says "Die Monster!" and "You don't belong in this world" if he kills a boss? Cause if true, that would be the best thing ever and I would never stop using Richter (assuming my PS3 successfully downloads both the game and the DLC without constantly failing at it).

Because downloading stuff on my PS3 tends end with the download crapping out three quarters of the way through. I never really got around to figuring out to fix it cause I don't use PSN much. =U

Is your internet a pretty solid connection?

My Internet connection ranges from crappy to awesome. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the distance between my room, where the PS3 is, and my router, which is downstairs and on the other side of my house. So that might be the issue, which is slightly problematic given that the wires on the router go behind a bookshelf that would be an jimbobob crazzlecake to move and there's no place to move the PS3 that's close to the router.

Get a long ethernet cord.

That would be my next plan if I can't get it to work any other way. I tried a few zany schemes involving connecting my laptop to the PS3 using a short Ethernet cord and trying that Internet sharing thingy, which kind of worked, so that might be Plan A, with buying a longer cord being Plan B cause I'm a cheap friendly clown touches me on Sundayz.
